We have an internal rating system that we use to rank deals. This allows us to bubble the best deals up to our frontpage, so you can see the best deals we have to offer.

We're still working on the algorithm so you'll see points change a lot.

What are these points next to my profile?

Like deals, we also rank users. If a person is a good contributing member to our community, you get more points. If a person is a naughty member, they'll quickly lose points and soon become white noise in our community.

If you have a lot of points, the new deals you post will be seeded with more points, so your deals will rank higher when you first post it. Of course, then the deal is left to the will of our community, and it will either rise in popularity or plummet.

The points you have are a factor of the quality of deals you've posted, the quality of comments you contribute, etc.

We are constantly changing our algorithm to improve our service, so just play nice in our community and you'll get more points.
